Since I haven't posted any entry fro how many weeks, i'll just post this journal tha i passed to our math teacher.
What Math Can Do
He entered the 4th year Justice room with such a terror look. The class greeted him a very awkward good afternoon. And the first words he told us were, “The moment I enter your classroom, everything must be set for Math class, then greeting and prayer. Do not let me wait; I am a teacher who does not want to wait. “
Yes, those were the first words of the terror math teacher we had. That is Sir Michel Guevara or commonly known as Sir Mike or “SM”. The teacher who is famous for the taglines, “What about?”, “M is greater than H!”, “etch”, and many more.
Sir Mike had taught us a lot of things in math especially the binomials, matrixes, functions, circles, and many many more that I really do not want to talk about because it only gives me a HEADACHE! And I really believe that I am not the only one who gets a huge headache in math. Who wouldn’t, right? I mean facing a lot of annoying numbers, memorizing formulas, and seeing the face of SM for five times a week is a bit tiring also (peace Sir Mike). But math is not only about headaches and annoyances, it also taught us to STRIVE HARD!
This year, math surely taught me the virtues of patience, perseverance, and hard work. When it comes to math, I really feel that I am hopeless, but I always believe that I can find the solution to every problem that is given to me. But it will only take a long time to find the solution (laughs).
The first quarter in math, served as an alarm clock to many of us. Why? I can’t help but say it is because many got low scores and many failed. And believe me it is not easy to see many of your classmates crying because they failed, especially just in the first quarter. I was also sad that time because I had a low grade. But I did not stop there. WE did not stop there. We really did our best during math classes. What was very heartwarming was that, Sir Mike, the so - called terror teacher, really helped us a lot. He was one of the reasons why we did not give up and we continued to persevere. He really made us believe that we can pass math. And indeed we passed math. Without the help of Sir Mike and from our classmates we might have great difficulty in his subject. Each passing day, the lesson gets harder and harder. We stay at Kenley until seven in the evening just to talk about the lesson that we had. Every time we need help, we just call Gerald and yes, we also call the help of Sir Mike. He is one approachable teacher, even though he is busy, he still finds a way to entertain the questions and other concerns of the students. He is not a perfect math teacher but a very good one.
Sir Mike, not just an ordinary Math teacher but he is also a friend to all of us. A friend that truly believes in the capability of each student. A friend who teaches us complicated things but still does not want us to give up.
He is one of the math teachers that admits that math is really difficult yet he still believes that ANYONE CAN SOLVE MATH!
